The city of Ambaji houses one of India's 51 Shakti Piths Tirth. These Hindu temples celebrate the worship of the goddess Shakti and are an annual destination for pilgrims making their ritual pilgrimages. Every year, roughly 8 million visitors journey to the state of Gujarat to visit Ambaji's temple. Crowds fill the city to celebrate the Chaitra Punam and Posh Sud Punam festivals, and local hotels offer various accommodations to travelers.
Centrally located near many of Ambaji's major attractions, including the Ambaji Temple, the Kamaxi Temple, Gabber Hill, Kialash Hill, Richdia Jhell, the Koteshwer Temple and Mount Abu, the Hotel Sunrise Palace offers a very convenient location for guests. The rooms at the Hotel Sunrise Palace hotel include family suites, deluxe and semi-deluxe rooms. Not all rooms have air conditioning, so guests wishing this amenity should note the request when booking a room. All rooms offer 24-hour room service that offers primarily local Indian and Chinese food as well as coffee, tea and breakfast.
The luxurious Hotel Asopalav & Restaurant caters to guests expecting personalized guest services during their stay in Ambaji. To this end, the hotel's staff regularly provides travel assistance, laundry and dry cleaning options, car parking and rental services as well as a hotel doctor on call. The hotel contains 23 deluxe and executive rooms that all include private baths, but air conditioning is not available in every room. The attached Asopalav Restaurant serves a diverse menu that includes Chinese, South Indian, Pujabi and Western continental cuisine with room service available 24 hours a day.
The Shri Arasuri Ambaji Mata Devasthan Trust, the group responsible for the administration of the Ambaji Temple, established the Holiday Home & Devotees Facility to provide low-cost housing options to temple visitors. The Holiday Home operates much like a standard hotel and contains 48 single and double deluxe and family rooms. The Holiday Home's amenities include a conference room suitable for business meetings, an outdoor garden, a children's playground and a dining room serving local cuisine.
The Devotees Facility is an economical option that is available for single guests only. The dormitory rooms house guests with other same-sex travelers with shared bathroom facilities. The 10 small dormitories do not earn a profit for the Trust and are offered to travelers for a nominal fee that merely allows the Trust to recoup its operating costs.
