According to the Hotel Price Index, a review of international hotel prices put out by hotels.com, Bermuda has one of the highest hotel prices in the Caribbean area. Although Bermuda is in the Atlantic and not technically in the Caribbean, it is still usually grouped with the islands.
Few hotels are available for less than $200 a night in Bermuda. However, visitors can find affordable accommodations if they look at inns, bed and breakfasts, and guest houses. These accommodations provide the same services as basic hotels, with in-suite washrooms, Wi-Fi and central locations at a more affordable price.
This inn is located in Paget Parish, a short ferry trip from Bermuda's capital, Hamilton. The inn is a bed and breakfast with cottages to rent. Rates as of October 2010, start at $85 a night in the low season and peak at $130 a night. Rooms are simple but comfortable, with amenities like air conditioning, in-suite washrooms and Wi-Fi.
Rooms do not have private phones but a pay phone is available. Private kitchens are in the cottages and guests can also use the kitchen in the inn. The inn is built from a 200-year-old cottage that has been expanded. It is on a peninsula that extends into Hamilton Harbor, allowing guests easy access to the sea and a cove for swimming.

This inn is located in St. Georges, a historic community recognized by the UNESCO World Heritage Site as a colonial town established in 1612. The inn has a history dating back to the 18th century. The decor at Aunt Nea's Inn is in line with the historic theme with items like four-poster beds with canopies found in the inn's 12 rooms and two suites.
The rooms, called Jasmine rooms, come with cable TV, private bathrooms and air conditioning. Rates range from $125 a night to $279 a night in October 2010. The property is also the home of the Harbourview Vacation rental, a retreat featured on PBS' "This Old House."

This guesthouse is almost 400 years old and has five rooms overlooking Hamilton Harbor. The rooms have en suite washrooms, cable TV, microwaves, fridges, Wi-Fi and air conditioning. Ocean-view rooms and rooms with fireplaces are available. Behind the guesthouse is a lawn with a view of the town, a barbecue and lawn chairs.
A continental breakfast is served each morning. Nearby activities include a tour of Waterville, one of the oldest houses in Bermuda, a tennis club, the Bermuda Botanical Gardens and Paget Marsh Nature Reserve, a forest and wetland area for nature lovers. Prices range between $75 and $125 a night at October 2010 rates.
