It has a population of 117 and is said to have derived its name from the Clear Creek that flows nearby. Community amenities include a library, park and art gallery. The Powder River Guest Ranch is a 24,000-acre working cattle ranch situated along the historic Powder River, 20 miles from Clearmont. Buffalo's Occidental Hotel is at the foot of Big Horn Mountains, 30 miles from Clearmont. Founded in 1880, the hotel offers authentic historic accommodations with modern amenities.
