So you want to dress like the goody-two-shoes, know-it-all Hermione Granger? Harry Potter's sweet, well-intentioned friend at Hogwart's School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is a favorite of these J.K. Rowling books. Follow these steps to put together your own magical outfit.
Style your hair. Hermione has long, sandy-blonde, flyaway hair.
Dress in robes. Standard issue for a first-year school witch includes a plain black robe, hat and gloves. A heavier winter cloak is often worn as well - black with silver fastenings. If you prefer to go as Hermione in her casual Muggle garb, opt for a basic sweater and jeans.
Grab an old book bag. Remember, Hermione loves nothing more than her studies, which (if you ask Harry and Ron) she takes all too seriously.
Stuff the book bag almost full with book-sized objects ' real books would be too heavy. Try small, empty cardboard boxes or square chunks of Styrofoam.
Pick a large, thin book to lie on top of (and hide) the bag's contents, and make a cover for it out of brown paper. Title it something like "Muggle Studies," "Divination" or "Potions."
Choose a huge tome of a book to carry around, and make a cover for it as well. "Arithmancy" or "Transfiguration" would be a good title.
Find a tiny hourglass and place it on a gold chain around your neck. This will be the "Time-Turner" that Hermione used to get to all her classes in "The Prisoner of Azkaban."
Place a silver badge on your black robe. Aluminum foil stretched over cardboard works well, or just use silver-colored paper. On the badge, write "S.P.E.W." Remember book four, "Goblet of Fire?" Hermione was up in arms over the exploitation and slavery of house elves, and formed the Society for Promotion of Elfish Welfare.
