Biltmore Resort in Phoenix, AZ

Crowned "The Jewel of the Desert" at its opening in February 1929, the Phoenix, Arizona, Biltmore was one of the city's first resorts. Designed by Albert McArthur, it is the only hotel in the world to be influenced by the designs of Frank Lloyd Wright.

  1. Accommodations

    • The Biltmore houses 738 guest rooms and 78 villas. Guest rooms are complemented by mission-style furnishings, marble baths with double sinks and a work desk, while the villa suites feature full kitchens, vaulted ceilings, gas fireplaces and indoor and outdoor dining areas. Rooms range in price from about $250 to $600 per night as of 2010.

    Dining

    • There are five different dining establishments at the Biltmore, including Frank and Albert's, which serves deli-style selections; the upscale Wright's restaurant; and the Cabana Club, located poolside with a swim-up bar.

    Recreation

    • Eight pools, life-size lawn chess, croquet, bocce and fitness classes are all available at the resort. The Arizona Biltmore Country Club abuts the Biltmore grounds and offers two 18-hole PGA golf courses.

    Spa

    • The award-winning Arizona Biltmore Spa provides a variety of signature treatments like aromatherapy or Sonoran stone massages, detoxifying seaweed or lily wraps and anti-aging caviar or rose quartz facials.

    Fun Facts

    • Throughout its history, the Arizona Biltmore has welcomed U.S. presidents and dozens of celebrities, including Marylin Monroe. Famous musical composer Irving Berlin penned "White Christmas" while visiting the resort.
