North Carolina's Outer Banks is a series of barrier islands between the mainland and the Atlantic Ocean. Corolla, located in the northern part of the Outer Banks, is predominantly a vacation destination with a year-round population of about 500. Area activities include kayaking tours, surfing lessons, jet-ski rentals, fishing, bird-watching, golf and tennis.
