Indian Beach is located at the center of Bogue Banks, a small island off the coast of North Carolina. Part of a small chain of scenic barrier islands, Indian Beach is a summer destination for beach goers. As of 2010, there are no hotels located on Indian Beach, but there are a number of hotels and restaurants on both ends of the island, within walking distance. This area is often referred to as the Southern Outer Banks or Crystal Coast. Though popular, Indian Beach remains peaceful, as the beach strand is not open for driving in the summer.
Every room has an oceanfront view at the Clam Digger Inn. The inn is located in Pine Knoll Shores, on the eastern side of Bogue Banks and about five minutes from Indian Beach Access. Guests can eat three homemade meals a day at the Clam Digger Restaurant or order room service and eat on the private balcony. All rooms have a refrigerator, microwave and wireless Internet. Guests can cool off in the outdoor pool and hot tub and amuse themselves in the game room. The inn is also within walking distance to Fort Macon, a 19th-century military fort, and three golf courses.

Located at the island’s downtown beachfront area, the Ocean View Inn is a short walk from restaurants, shops and hiking and fishing areas. Rooms include a micro fridge, microwave, coffee maker, television and phones, though guests can also choose to stay in one- or two-bedroom apartments with a full kitchen. Family owned and operated since 1978, the hotel has 33 rooms with ocean-view balconies.

A quiet hotel and the southernmost location on the outer banks, the Whaler Inn offers smaller rooms for guests who plan to spend most of their time swimming, boating and fishing. Facilities include an indoor swimming pool, game room and computer room. Internet access is available in most areas throughout the hotel, and every room has a private balcony, though not every room has an ocean view.
