Perhaps best known as the final resting place of the pirate Blackbeard, Ocracoke Island is the outermost inhabited island on North Carolina's Outer Banks. Primarily a fishing village, Orcacoke hosts a bustling tourist trade in summer with plenty of activity for the whole family, and a variety of hotels on the beach.

The Silver Lake Motel and Inn features a variety of accommodations, including traditional rooms and suites with full kitchens and private decks. You may also stay at the Sunset Studio Suite, which features two waterfront decks and is a perfect hideaway. There are hammocks on most decks. Silver Lake takes reservations at any time, but is only open from April to October.
