Homosassa Springs Hotels

Homosassa, in Citrus County, Florida, is located approximately 50 miles north of the Tampa Bay region along the western coast of the state. Although the town has a population of fewer than 2,500 residents, tourists stream in throughout the year to fish, scuba dive and observe the wildlife at the local state park.     • The Blue Moon Bed & Breakfast is a small boutique lodging in Homosassa which, according to its website, was listed as "one of Florida's Most Romantic Getaways by Florida International Magazine." The structure is similar to an old southern mansion with only five rooms available at any given time. Each room has its own decor and arrangement -- from the "Spanish Room" to the "North Woods Room." All accommodations have king-sized beds, cable television and complimentary boutique toiletries, such as bath crystals. The Blue Moon has its own pool and Jacuzzi as well as a dining hall where a free gourmet breakfast is served.

    Homosassa Riverside Resort

    • As its name would suggest, the Homosassa Riverside Resort is located on the shores of the Homosassa River. The lodging has single and double rooms available, which include either patios or balconies that sit just above the water. Aside from the location, the Homosassa Riverside Resort provides visitors with a crab house that serves local sea fare, features the oldest cocktail lounge in the country and has a double-decker tiki bar. The bar overlooks the resort-owned Monkey Island, a small piece of land where monkeys roam free and swing across tree limbs and jungle gyms. The hotel also provides dock space for a fee to those who prefer to arrive by boat.
