Belonging to a frequent flyer program allows you to earn miles for flights on the club's airline or air partners, as well as partner hotel chains, credit card companies and car rental agencies, to name just a few. Besides spending your miles on air travel, some frequent flyer clubs will let you redeem those miles on the ground, too. Hotel stays are a popular incentives for top-tier members of these awards programs.
Log on to your frequent flyer program's website to see if you have enough miles to redeem for a hotel.
Click on "Use Miles," "Redeem Miles" or "Awards" to look at your options for using your miles at hotels.
Choose the "Hotels" link and enter the nights and zip code or city of your travel destination to find out what participating partner hotels are in close proximity.
View the hotel listings individually to find out how many miles they require for a booking. With some frequent flyer programs, you can use a combination of miles and money to book the hotel, making your stay cheaper, while also allowing you to keep more miles to redeem for flying.
Click "Reserve" when you're ready to book the hotel and enter credit card information if necessary.
