Sign up for the Air Miles card. You can do this by visiting the Air Miles website listed in the Resources section below.
Use your card to accrue miles at any of the more than 100 participating companies and you will earn miles to redeem for items in the reward catalog. The number of miles earned varies by outlet, but most average about one mile for every $20 spent. You can also earn miles by signing up for free trials or by winning them in giveaways from specific vendors. The Air Miles website lists special opportunities to earn more miles. For example, you may find that a company is offering triple miles when you make an online purchase from its website.
Check out the rewards. Visit the reward section of the website to plan which rewards you want. If you want to stay at a Starwood Hotel, for example, you will need 700 miles per night.
Accrue the miles you need. Once you have built up the number of miles you need for your reward, you can visit the website catalog to get the redemption number. Some things you can select and purchase online, but for the hotels, you will need to call in to Air Miles to redeem your miles and get your free hotel stay reward.
Redeem your miles. Call Air Miles at (888) AIR-MILES from within Canada to redeem your miles for a hotel stay. Provide the Air Miles item number found on the appropriate page of the online reward catalog to ensure that you are receiving your reward.
Once you've redeemed your miles, Air Miles will send you a voucher that you can use to book and pay for your hotel stay.
