How to Plan a Bachelor Party in Montreal

If you're the best man, your task is to throw that wild bachelor party your friend will be talking about until he's a grandfather. You know that it's a "don't ask, don't tell" affair and anything short of premarital adultery or jail time goes. Montreal offers some of the most beautiful women and hottest all-nude strip clubs in the world. It is the perfect setting for any bachelor party. And the drinking age is 18, which is great if you have any younger brothers or friends who plan to attend.

Instructions

  1. General Travel Arrangements

    • 1

Discuss strippers with the groom and his fiance. If you're taking a trip to Montreal, it's safe to assume that strippers are a go. If you haven't discussed this prior to choosing Montreal, make sure you do so. It's important to be certain that the groom-to-be (and his lovely fiance) are prepared for this. After all, it's his day and you want him to be comfortable and have a good time.

    • 2

Get your guest list together. Consult with the groom on who he wants there, and obtain all the contact information. Begin sending emails and making phone calls to shore up the guest list. An e-vite is a great way to get the information out to everyone at once. Remember to include all your contact information. Follow up and be sure of who will be attending before making any formal arrangements. This should be done at least two months in advance to allow enough planning time.

    • 3

Make travel arrangements once you have a confirmed guest list. Ideally, if you have significant air or road travel, you will want to have at least a full day in Montreal and two travel days. This may not always be possible, but it would allow for a full, no-pressure evening for the bachelor party.

    • 4

Ensure that everyone has a passport or will be able to get one prior to your travels. As of 2007, travelers to Canada need to present a passport to enter and exit the country.

    • 5

Check on appropriate flights if you are flying to Montreal. Make sure that the flight you intend to book has enough seats for your party or that similar flights are available so that everyone arrives on time. (And if you are flying out the day after the party, be sure to schedule an afternoon or evening flight that your group will be able to catch easily.)

    • 6

Forward flight information to your group and make sure that they order their tickets right away so the flight does not book up. Although you could book tickets for a smaller group, you'd be better off delegating this responsibility to each person so you're not left on the hook if there are any last minute cancellations or changes. Let each member be responsible for himself. Book a flight for yourself and the groom-to-be (you can get everyone to help cover his flight later).

    • 7

Drive to Montreal if you live within a reasonable distance. A road trip is a great bonding experience and extension of the bachelor party. Whether renting or using your own vehicle, make sure you have enough space for everyone attending. Rent additional vehicles or designate additional drivers to ensure enough space.

    Entertainment and Accommodations

    • 8

Book one of Montreal's package bachelor parties. Companies like Montreal VIP offer all-inclusive packages that include hotel accommodations, VIP access to nightclubs and strip clubs, a special bachelor show, bottle service, liquor and dining. Packages range in price and scope but are a great way to let the experts plan the perfect night. Prices and options should be discussed with the group before booking.

    • 9

Book a hotel if you'd prefer to plan the night yourself. Depending on the size of your group, you'll want a nice suite to hang out in and other rooms for sleeping accommodations. Bachelor parties should be a comfortable, classy event. Ideally, you should choose a nice hotel over a cheap motel, but discuss the expense with the group ahead of time so you don't get stuck holding the bill. Invite their input.

    • 10

Research information on nightlife, strip clubs and restaurants in the area surrounding your hotel. The Loews Hotel Vogue is a very nice, upscale hotel and is within several minutes walking distance of major Montreal strip clubs. Whether you choose this hotel or another, determine whether you'll be walking or will need a cab or car.

    • 11

Make dining reservations ahead of time since you're a sizable group. This ensures you'll get a table at the restaurant of your choice. A nice steakhouse is a bachelor party staple; however, bear in mind your groom's favorite type of restaurant and book accordingly.

    • 12

Contact individual nightclubs and strip clubs to find out about making reservations for entry and for special bachelor shows. Individual reservation policies may differ. Some world-renowned clubs to consider visiting include Chez Paris, Club Wanda and Club Super Sexe.

    • 13

Get directions and make transportation reservations to the hotel if you're coming from the airport.

    Game Time

    • 14

Keep in contact with all parties on the day of your trip. Designate a meeting place and make sure that everyone is on time and ready to go--with passport, tickets and cash in hand.

    • 15

Get everyone to chip in and cover the groom's expenses at the pre-trip meet up. The groom's expenses should include flight/car, gas, hotel, liquor and any package costs. You could wait until after the trip, when all bills and costs have been received, but you might be less likely to ever see recompense, particularly if there are visitors from far away or guys you have never met. If some do not have the cash upfront, suggest that they cover expenses to be encountered--such as paying for the groom's drinks or buying a couple of tanks of gas. Everyone in the party should be contributing.

    • 16

Let all that planning go to work for you once you arrive. Whether the bachelor party is on the night of your arrival or on the following night, finish all arrangements, stock up your suite with some liquor and let the party begin. Head out to dinner and then off to the clubs. Montreal also has a casino if you want to throw in a little gambling at any point. You can spend the night in one place or visit a variety of clubs and nightlife.
