Watershed Cabins are the only cabins of their kind in the Bryson City area. The cabins, open since 1998 and formerly known as Nantahala Mountaintop Cabins, are on 50 acres of property, which can be explored by visitors. They are centrally located at the intersection of Needmore Road and Highway 74, making it easy for guests to travel the area and see some of the local attractions without straying too far from their home base.
Cabins range in size from one-bedroom to five-bedroom units. The largest five-bedroom cabin sleeps up to 20 and is near some of the smaller cabins so guests who want to have a reunion or retreat can book several cabins in the same area.
All cabins come equipped with luxury items like fine linens, hot tubs and satellite TV. Some cabins also have Jacuzzi tubs, pool tables and game tables. WiFi is available in select cabins.
Pets are allowed in most of the cabins.
Cabins are also available for purchase if you want to become a more permanent part of the community.

A community center allows visitors to access common areas like bocce ball and other yard sports, fire pits, a full-sized tipi and a covered picnic area.
The area is full of hiking trails, some which lead to the on-site waterfall. Hiking, white-water rafting, kayaking, fishing and mountain biking are some of the area's most popular activities.
The resort doesn't offer any activities that take away from the natural aspects of the area.
The cabins are located in the Great Smoky Mountains 4 miles east of the Nantahala Outdoor Center. It is also near the Fontana Lake, Fontana Dam and a short drive to Bryson City and Cherokee.
The neighboring cities give you a chance to get something to eat, stock up on groceries or enjoy some of the area's attractions: Harrah's Casino, Lakeview at Fontana Day Spa, the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad and Paddlefish Kayaking.
Check-in time is 4 p.m. and check-out time is 11 a.m. The cabins do not have daily housekeeping but you are not required to clean the cabin when you leave. However, if the work is excessive, the staff may charge for the extra clean-up time.
Cabins come with tissues, soaps, shampoo and laundry soap. Some condiments may be in stock but it is recommended you bring any condiments you may need.
All cabins are non-smoking. Pets are allowed with a security deposit, cleaning fee and advance notice. Pets are not allowed on the furniture.
Cabins are open year-round unless extreme weather forbids it.
