Darwen is a market town in the English north western county of Lancashire. The town is located adjacent to the West Pennine Moors in the Pennine hill range and is situated five miles from the city of Blackburn. A number of hotels are available in the town, with a fairly even split between hotels belonging to large chain companies and independently owned and run venues. Darwen Tower is the town's main tourist attraction, offering views across Lancashire to the Blackpool coast, the Isle of Man and North Wales.
The family-run Astley Bank Hotel & Conference Centre is located in a 19th century manor house surrounded by six acres of landscaped gardens. The hotel has three styles of en-suite rooms available--standard, executive and four poster guestrooms. Othello's Restaurant, capable of seating up to 80 diners, is located on the hotel's site, offering guests a range of food and drinks from its menu. As the hotel's name suggests, it is also equipped to host conferences, with space for up to 70 delegates offered in the Astley Bank complimented by seven other, smaller conference rooms.
