Fido and Whiskers may be like family, but when taking a vacation, it can be hard to keep the family together if a pet-friendly hotel is unavailable. Luckily, visitors to family-friendly Orlando, Florida, have many options. Several of these pet-friendly hotels are located within two miles of the Downtown Disney entertainment area.
The SunSpree Holiday Inn, not to be confused with the HI location in Downtown Disney itself, is a little over a mile outside Disney property. It's considered a Disney "Good Neighbor," where guests can buy Disney tickets and get trip planning advice right at the hotel. The resort allows up to two pets 30 pounds or lighter for a flat fee of $40 per week. In addition to its proximity to major attractions, the resort boasts a large pool, arcade, bingo and in-pool movies. The hotel also as "KidSuites" with bunkbeds for up to four children in a room.

The Comfort Inn, located about a mile from Downtown Disney, charges $10 per night for pets up to 50 pounds. The hotel has specific restrictions on leashing, as well as on leaving pets in the room, so you may need to book daytime kennel facilities if you plan to spend major time at theme parks. There is a buffet and cocktail lounge on-site. This hotel has a Kids Eat Free program, and fridges and microwaves in every room.

This Marriott location charges a $100 fee for a pet staying with a guest. The hotel offers suites with full kitchens. A free breakfast buffet is also available each day. The Residence Inn is a Disney "Good Neighbor" hotel, with free daily shuttle service to Epcot theme park. From there, guests can board Disney buses to any other Disney parks or resorts.
