Disney World Hotels Near Downtown Disney

Downtown Disney attracts both adults and families with its shops, restaurants and shows. It is divided into three sections: Downtown Disney West Side, Downtown Disney Marketplace and Pleasure Island. Downtown Disney West Side has the Cirque du Soleil La Nouba show and the DisneyQuest indoor theme park. The Downtown Disney Marketplace is home to shops, while Pleasure Island has various dining options. Those who want to be close to the action can stay at nearby Disney World hotels. The closest attractions are Epcot, Animal Kingdom and Disney Hollywood Studios. Magic Kingdom Park is 30 minutes away from the Downtown Disney area.

    • This Victorian-style hotel is along Lake Buena Vista. There are six different vacation villas within this resort. This includes The Springs, The Paddock, Congress Park, The Carousel, The Grandstand and the Treehouse Villas. Treehouse Villas allow up to nine guests to sleep high up with the forest leaves--the rooms are nine feet off the ground. Most of the other villas are large enough to sleep 12 people or more.     • This resort includes studios and one- to three-bedroom villas. Disney's Old Key West has 761 rooms in all. Surrounding the villas are two restaurants, lounge, shops and arcade. This resort has four heated pools, which include a water slide, children's pool and spa. Adults or families can play tennis, basketball, volleyball or golf. The villas have kitchens or kitchenettes, living rooms and in-room laundry facilities. Other amenities include a full-size washer and dryer, satellite television, daily housekeeping, hairdryer, safe, iron and ironing board, and a Pack 'N Play yard.     Disney's Port Orleans Resort-French Quarter

    • This resort's inspiration is the French Quarter in New Orleans. There are cobblestone walkways, wrought-iron fences and jazz playing in the background. This resort is the least expensive out of the three, starting at just $174 per night, 2010 rates. Amenities include pizza delivery, satellite television, self-parking, refrigerator, coffee maker, high speed Internet, iron and ironing board and safe. There are also rooms for guests with disabilities.

      Disney's Port Orleans has shops, restaurants, jogging and walking trail and bike rentals. Guests can choose to take a 30-minute ride in a horse-drawn carriage. This resort is located near Downtown Disney, Epcot theme park and Disney's Boardwalk area.
