Disney Village Hotels

Visitor's to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, may wish to spend time in Disney Village, or Downtown Disney. According to the Disney World website, Downtown Disney has three distinct sections designed to provide alternatives to the standard theme parks. Attractions include restaurants, movie theaters, shops and boutiques and live entertainment. Adults 18 years and older may enjoy the fun on Pleasure Island, with its restaurants, bars, lounges and nightlife.


The Disney World Resort website features a variety of hotels near Downtown Disney, which offer something for travelers of every budget and interest.

  1. Disney's BoardWalk Inn

    • According to its website, Disney's BoardWalk Inn is a Disney Deluxe Resort and is designed to give travelers the feel of walking on the 1940s boardwalk in Atlantic City. The boardwalk is a quarter mile long and features performance artists, games and other carnival-like attractions.

      The hotel itself features two swimming pools, an ESPN Club and a health club and spa. For children, the hotel offers a 24-hour playground, arcade and bike rentals. Iron Chef Cat Cora created the recipes for the on-site Kouzzina restaurant, and Big River Grille & Brewing Works boasts it is the only working brewpub at Walt Disney World Resort.

      The hotel's non-smoking rooms include amenities such as cable TV, coffeemakers, hairdryers, refrigerators and Internet access. Room service is available 24 hours a day.

      Disney's BoardWalkInn is located near Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios. Transportation to and from the parks is included, and parking is free for guests.

    Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter

    • Billed as a "moderate" resort on the Disney website, Disney's Port Orleans Resort -- French Quarter was built in the style of New Orleans' famed French Quarter. Jazz music lingers in the air as guests wander down the cobblestone walkways modeled after New Orleans.

      Hotel guest rooms feature cable TV, Internet service, hairdryers, in-room safes, coffee makers and refrigerators. Parking is available for guests, as is transportation to the Disney World theme parks and resorts.

      Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter has a food court with both American and Creole offerings as well as Scat Cat's Lounge, which offers live entertainment. There's also a gift shop on site.

      Guests can also enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride or a relaxing walk down the mile-long trail built next to the Sassagoula River, while kids can play in the arcade or enjoy the swimming pool.

    Disney's All-Star Movies Resort

    • Travelers looking for the best value for their money may enjoy Disney's All-Star Movies Resort. The decor honors some of Disney's biggest and brightest movies including Toy Story, One Hundred and One Dalmatians, Fantasia and more.

      The hotel also features an arcade, food court and two swimming pools, as well as a playground for kids.

      Like the other Disney Resort hotels, parking is free for guests as is shuttle service between resorts and Disney theme parks and attractions.
