Bamfield, British Columbia is located on a protected inlet on the south shore of Barkley sound in Canada. With its rugged coastline, the quiet maritime village is a jumping off point for exploring the nearby rain forests and uninhabited islands. Lodging in Bamfield consists mostly of family-owned lodges and resorts.
  1. The McKay Bay Lodge

    • The McKay Bay Lodge is a family-owned and operated fishing lodge offering 10 guest suites, complete with queen-size beds, living area, microwave, refrigerator and fireplace. All rooms come with home-cooked meals, moorage, fish packaging and fish freezing.

      The lodge also offers high-speed Internet access and on-site hot tub as well as a number of fishing- and non-fishing related activities.

    The Imperial Eagle Lodge & Charters

    • Located on the south shore of Barkley sound, the Imperial Eagle Lodge boasts Main Lodge guest rooms with queen, double or twin beds and Private Garden cottages that include kitchenettes. With a hot tub on the Main Lodge deck, you can unwind after a day of fishing, hiking or other activity in and near Bamfield. The Imperial also offers food and drink at the Eagle's Nest Lounge.

      The Imperial Eagle can also host groups from 15 to 18 people and offers fully-guided salmon and halibut fishing packages.

    Tyee Resort & Fishing Lodge

    • The Tyee Resort is just minutes from Bamfield and offers lodging in the Main Lodge, which has individual rooms and can sleep up to 24 guests, or family-style lodging in the Harbor View House, complete with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a fully-equipped kitchen and a living room with fireplace, television and stereo.

      The Tyee offers fully-inclusive fishing packages, individual rooms and banquet facilities. The on-site chef provides optional dining choices.

    Bamfield Trails Motel

    • Located in the heart of the Pacific Rim National Park, the Bamfield Trails Motel offers 35 motel rooms including a 10-bed bunkhouse and 18 complete suites with full kitchen and separate bedroom. Many of the rooms have balconies with a view of the harbor and all rooms have complimentary coffee. The motel has on-site laundry facilities.

      During the summer months, the motel has bus service to and from Victoria, Nanaimo and Port Alberni and the MV Lady Rose provides passenger and cargo service to surrounding areas. For a fee, you can also moor your boat at the nearby Hawkeye Marina.

      For a lunch, dinner or cocktails, you can visit the on-site Hawk's Nest Pub or walk across the street to the cafe.
