Fishing Resorts in British Columbia, Canada

British Columbia, on Canada's west coast, offers some of the best fishing and fishing resorts in the world. Whether you prefer salt or fresh water, salmon or trout, fly-fishing or sport fishing, there is something for everyone. Fishing lodges in BC are as diverse as the fishing itself, ranging from remote to more easily accessible options, luxurious to more rustic, family- to corporate-oriented. Whatever you are looking for, BC has it all.
  1. Shearwater Resort

    • The Shearwater Resort, located on Denny Island off the west coast of British Columbia, is one of the oldest fishing lodges in BC. The lodge is accessible only by air or boat. Because of its location, the area offers rare opportunities to view killer and humpback wales, white bears, and bald eagles. Sport fishers from all over come for the coho and chinook salmon as well as halibut, lingcod and snapper. There are two choices for accommodations: The Great Bear Lodge, which caters mostly to all-inclusive packages, has 27 double-bed rooms. Four-day/three-night packages start at $2,500 as of 2010. The Fisherman's Inn has 16 double-bed rooms and four kitchenette suites. Prices range from $65 to $125 as of 2010. On-site and nearby facilities include restaurants, a grocery and liquor store, and boat rentals.
