Small Motels in Florida's Gulf Central

Stretching from the Florida panhandle in the north down to Sarasota, the central Florida Gulf coast spans over 200 miles, with a variety of beach and inland communities. Along with the waters of the Gulf of Mexico, weather in this area is a big draw as it tends to be less humid than other parts of Florida during the summer, though it's cooler in the winter. There are a number of small motels that one can take advantage of in Florida's Gulf central, providing a less costly, more nostalgic alternative to the area's large beach and golf resorts.
  1. Hernando Beach Motel & Condos‎

    • Located on the Gulf of Mexico, the Hernando Beach Motel & Condos gives you direct access to the water and easy access to other places, with two major highways seven miles to the east. The motel has founded in the 1980s and offers fully furnished one-, two- and three-bedroom units in a two-story structure. A heated outdoor pool, free boat docking and a backyard barbecue area are among the amenities that guests can take advantage of.

Gulf Side Motel - Cedar Key‎

    • Cedar Key offers an idyllic setting for those looking to get a closeup experience with the wildlife in this region. The Gulf Side Motel is located in the heart of town, with water and boat dock allowing access to the water and canoe and kayak rentals so you don't have to be stuck on land. The motel features a selection of rooms ranging from their most inexpensive accommodations (efficiency units) to their Honeymoon Suite, which features a private balcony on the second floor and porch swing that allows you to look out over the Gulf.

    Sunbay Motel‎

    • The Sunbay Motel is located in the heavily Greek-influenced community of Tarpon Springs. The motel is a short half-mile walk to the docks and the water where sponging and shrimp fishing are popular. The motel is a two-level structure located across the street from Craig Park and just one block from the Historic District where visitors will find shops and restaurants.

    Suncoast Motel, Treasure Island‎

    • Offering everything from basic efficiencies to rambling studio units, the Suncoast Motel at Treasure Island‎ offers an affordable place to stay in this resort community. The motel is on the coast and allows guests to take advantage of many of the area's beachfront activities including parasailing, jet skiing, dolphin watching and island boat excursions. On the premises, you'll find beach volleyball, a heated outdoor pool and shuffleboard, to name a few of the on-site amenities.
