Beulah, North Dakota Motels

Beulah, North Dakota is a small town in the west central part of the state, about 75 miles from the state capital, Bismarck . Its two main industries are high-tech and mining, earning it the moniker "Energy Capital of North Dakota." A 20-minute drive brings you to fishing and water sports on Lake Sakakawea, the country's largest reservoir. Beulah offers travelers both budget and more luxurious motel accommodation choices.

Cold weather hookups let you plug in another heater when the mercury plummets. On-site amenities include a business center and guest laundry.     • Scot Wood Motel is a 37-room, mom-and-pop-style motel, five blocks from downtown Beulah. It doesn't have its own website, but maintains a listing at the state's tourism website. Room choices include king beds, single or dual queen beds; both smoking and nonsmoking rooms are available. Rooms have standard amenities but also come with a fridge and climate control. If Internet access is important to you, check ahead, as service is not available in all rooms. The motel offers a free continental breakfast and freezer space to store your hunting and fishing catches. Scot Wood caters to recreational travel with hookups for vehicles and boats, too.

    Roughrider Motor Inn

    • The Roughrider Motor Inn is a traditional motel on North Dakota Highway 200, 11 miles east of Beulah. It doesn't have its own website, but maintains a listing with the Hazen Chamber of Commerce. The motel offers standard amenities with climate control, plus wireless Internet, a fax service and guest laundry. The coffee is free and you can plug in your vehicle or arrange a meeting in the conference room. Some kitchenettes are available, and you can have your meals at Sue's Cafe, less than a mile south.
