Many private homes in Puerto Peñasco are available for rental. Some are ocean front properties or located in gated communities. Amenities vary.
Puerto Peñasco is home to a few large resorts, each of which has unique features and accomodations. The Sonoran Sky Resort features a poolside movie theater, beach palapas and rooftop barbecues, while Las Palomas Golf & Beach Resort boasts a championship 18-hole golf course.
In addition to the large resorts, a number of smaller hotels are scattered throughout Rocky Point. These range from pricey beachfront lodgings to economy motels in the heart of town.
The U.S. Consulate issued a travel warning for Highway 8, the route between the U.S. border and Puerto Peñasco, in May 2010 due to reports of unauthorized checkpoints.
