Cabins in Mitchell County, North Carolina

Mitchell County is located in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains in western North Carolina. It was named for Professor Elisha Mitchell, who worked at the University of North Carolina from 1818 to 1857. The county was formed before the Civil War when Union sympathizers in the northern part of the region split from pro-Southern sympathizers in Watauga, Yancey, McDowell, Burke and Caldwell counties. Today, the region boasts gorgeous vacation spots and cabins, with plenty of opportunities for outdoor recreation and relaxation.

- Six cabins and cottages are available at Cross Creek Log Cabin Rentals in Linville Falls. Two to four guests can sleep comfortably in Green Hedges Cabin, Fishing Bear Cabin or Branches Cabin.
