Travelers to Pilot Mountain, North Carolina, often come for the beautiful natural scenery. Pilot Mountain has two distinct pinnacles--The Knob, or Big Pinnacle, and Little Pinnacle, that are unlike other mountains. The larger pinnacle has 200-foot high bare rock walls topped with a rounded cap of vegetation. Trails allow access to the smaller peak and also lead around the base of larger one. The River Rhys Cabin is near the emerging wine country of nearby Yadkin Valley. The historic log cabin is located in the shadow of Pilot Mountain and directly adjacent to the River Rhys Vineyard.
The countryside surrounding the cabin has golf courses, state parks and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Local artists have craft shops and antique country stores scattered around the area. Also nearby is historic Old Salem, the tiny town of Pilot Mountain and Andy Griffith's Mayberry.
The 100-year-old cabin has original logs, authentic rock fireplaces, a king-sized bed, gas logs in the living room fireplace and a grill on the back deck.
