Durham, North Carolina, is the home of Duke University and part of the area known as the Research Triangle that includes Raleigh and Chapel Hill. There is a lot of city to explore here, but there are also nearby lakes and the foothills of the Blueridge Mountains. Arrowhead Inn is a relaxing place in the middle of the North Carolina triangle of Durham, Raleigh, and Chapel Hill. The facility has two cabins that are loaded with luxuries. The Carolina Log Cabin is a replica of a 1700s log cabin, but it is anything but rustic once you get inside. There is a large fireplace, spa and whirlpool, a steam shower built for two, microwave, DVD player, and free Wi-Fi. It has a sleeping loft with a king-sized bed, a private porch, and a spacious sitting area. The other cabin is called the Garden Cottage, which is the former carriage house of the plantation set in the middle of a carefully manicured garden. The cabin has the same amenities as the Carolina Cabin. Prices include a full breakfast and afternoon snacks.

The Chatuge Cove Marina, on Lake Chatuge, 25 miles from Durham, is a great location for a vacation. The marina has boat rentals available, as well as all water sports and hiking trials. The marina has one cabin, a two-bedroom brick structure. It has a full kitchen, a TV, and a DVD player. There is a back porch, and the cabin has a private boat slip.
