Murphy, North Carolina, is a cabin camper's paradise nestled in the hills between the Great Smoky Mountain National Park and the Nantahala National Forest near the Georgia state line. The Nantahala River goes through the town, and there are many cabins along the river, on creeks and on hillsides. The Nantahala River has some of the best white water rafting in the nation. Nearby are the Appalachian Trail and the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Trails End, is as the name implies, secluded and away from most traces of civilization. The cabins are 10 miles from Murphy in the hills, near lakes, streams, and waterfalls. Trails End is in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and just a few miles from Georgia and the Chattahoochee National Forest. Trails End is set up for horseback riding, and all cabins come with stalls for horses. Cabins are rustic looking on the outside, but they are modern inside. Cabins have a full kitchen and two bedrooms. Also, there is a sleeper sofa, a TV and DVD player. Firewood is provided for the fireplace, but the cabins have heat and air conditioning. Cabins come with a washer and dryer. There is a deck on the front of the cabin and a screened porch on the back.

Scottish Woods Cabins are secluded in the Great Smoky Mountains five miles from Murphy and almost on the Georgia state line. The cabins are also surrounded by hills, lakes, streams, waterfalls and creeks. Cabins are made of logs and appear rustic outside, but they are modern on the inside. Cabins have one or two bedrooms, fully equipped kitchens and a gas grill outside. Satellite TV is included, along with a DVD and access to their 450 DVD collection of movies, and free WiFi. The fireplaces come with wood provided. There is also a hot tub on decks of all cabins. The cabins have heat and air conditioning.

River Cove Cabins are on the Nantahala River near Highway 64, five miles south of Murphy, and in the Nantahala National Forest. There are many trails and opportunities for white water rafting and other water sports. The Appalachian Trail and the Blue Ridge Parkway are nearby. There are eight cabins with either one or two bedrooms. Cabins have full kitchens, fireplaces, TV and DVD player. There is a large living room area with a sleeper sofa. Each cabin has a jacuzzi, and a deck with a screened porch on the back.
