Murphy is a small town in the Nantahala National Forest on the western edge of North Carolina. Visitors will find rental cabins in the areas surrounding downtown Murphy. The area is on the edge of the Blue Ridge Mountains offering scenic mountain views and a convenient location close to attractions such as the Biltmore Estate and Blue Ridge Parkway.
River Cove Cabins are located seven miles to the southwest of downtown Murphy on the Nottely River. It features one- and two-bedroom cabins that include a kitchenette, barbecue grill and a covered front porch along with a fireplace or hot tubs in select cabins. There is a large covered picnic pavilion overlooking the river for large gatherings. Recreational amenities include a campfire area, horse shoes and volleyball as well as darts and fishing in the river. River Cove Cabins has an old mercantile store for guests to visit as well as a gem mining exhibit, water wheel and canoe livery. Local dining options include the Italian Cafe and Blimpie Subs within two miles of the cabins.

Pine Creek Cabins are set on eight wooded acres, seven miles to the southwest of downtown Murphy. Cabins are available with one- or two-bedrooms and include a full kitchen, cable TV and large deck with charcoal grill. The property is very private due to the wooded landscape and include the small Pine Creek and several nature trails for guests to explore. There is an outdoor pool with patio seating area, as well as a covered picnic pavilion for guests to use. Local dining options include the Rib Country Restaurant and Royal Waffle King within three miles of the cabins.

Cobb Creek Cabins are located seven miles southwest of downtown Murphy and one cabin is the historical home of baseball great Ty Cobb’s grandfather. The property was home to Ty Cobb during the summer months of his youth and has artifacts from his career. It offers one- to three-bedroom cabins that include a full kitchen, cable TV and barbecue grill. There is a small creek that runs through the property where guests can fish as well as a pond where guests can swim or fish. Cobb Creek Cabins also has an animal area that contains chickens, pigs and alpacas. Local dining options include the El Manzanio Mexican Restaurant and Arby’s, just over three miles away.
