Lodging Within Yellowstone Park

Whether you want to sleep under the stars, stay in an authentic log cabin or enjoy the luxury of a historic hotel, Yellowstone National Park offers a lodging option for you.

Xanterra Parks & Resorts operates all lodging within Yellowstone.
  1. Camping

    • Yellowstone National Park offers 12 different campgrounds throughout the park for those interested in experiencing the great outdoors.

Plan on making reservations ahead of time or securing your camping site early (7 of the campgrounds are first come, first served) as spots fill up pretty quickly, especially during the summer months.

    Summer Lodges

    • There are 9 summer lodge options in Yellowstone National Park, which are open for varying times of the year (but all are open June through August).

One option, Lake Yellowstone Hotel, completed in 1891, is on the Register of Historic Places.

    Winter Lodges

    • During the winter season, there are only 2 lodging options within the park.

Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel is open from Dec. 21 to March 7 and is the only accommodation option in Yellowstone accessible by car.

Old Faithful Snow Lodge & Cabins, open from Dec. 18 to March 6, can only be accessed in winter by National Park Service-approved "over the snow transportation".
