Boone County, located in northern Illinois, borders the Wisconsin state line. Although Boone County itself has only one campground with log cabins, two more are located close by in McHenry and Winnebago counties. Most of these cabins don't have a lot of amenities, which is only appropriate when you consider they are in the "Land of Lincoln'' and reflect the cabin where President Abraham Lincoln spent his early years.
The Holiday Acres Camping Resort is in the town of Garden Prairie in Boone County. This is an all-inclusive RV resort that has a store, restaurant and cocktail lounge on the property.
