On the western coast of Florida, guests will find the Myakka River State Park. The park is one of the biggest in Florida and contains wetlands, forests and plenty of native wildlife. A canopy walkway through the park is an environmentally friendly way for visitors to see the beautiful sights of the park. The park cabins were built in the early 1930s and have been remodeled for guest use. All cabins contain two double beds, a fold-out sofa, kitchenette with dining area, bath and fireplace. There are outdoor grills and picnic tables outside each cabin and a covered porch for enjoying the scenery. Rates as of 2010 for a fully furnished cabin with a maximum occupancy of 6 people was $70 nightly. The park recommends reserving cabins as early as possible.
