Southern Florida Camping Cabins

For vacationers who want a South Florida camping experience without sleeping in the great outdoors, cabins provide an indoor living environment in a rustic setting. Some cabins provide modern amenities like a bathroom and kitchen, while others are more primitive and furnished with beds only.
  1. Bahia Honda State Park

    • Bahia Honda State Park in the Florida Keys is an island of sandy beaches and deep waters. There are three duplex cabins that accommodate up to six people in each of the six units. Cabins are furnished with kitchen equipment and appliances, linens and air conditioning. Each unit has two bedrooms, a bathroom, living room and kitchen, and is elevated on stilts. Attached to each duplex is a porch and a ground-level deck with picnic tables and grills. Reservations for winter, weekends and holidays must be made at least 11 months in advance. Activities at Bahia Honda State Park include boating, hiking, fishing, swimming and beach-going. Concessions are available at the park.

    Cayo Costa State Park

    • Cayo Costa State Park is on an island 12 miles from the southwestern city of Cape Coral and is accessible by a passenger ferry. Rental cabins on Cayo Costa are primitive and sleep up to six campers in three bunk beds. Each cabin also comes equipped with a table. No other amenities are provided, but the cabins feature easy access to beaches and nature trails. Bathroom and shower facilities are available. Attractions at Cayo Costa State Park include 9.5 miles of beaches, biking and hiking trails, boating, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, marine wildlife viewing and ranger-led interpretive programs that teach tourists about the island. Concessions are sold at the park several times daily.

    Jonathan Dickinson State Park

    • In Southeast Florida's Hobe Sound, Jonathan Dickinson State Park is located along the Loxahatchee River on nearly 11,500 acres of land. The park offers 12 camping cabins for rent near the river. Cabins are furnished with a bedroom, queen- or full-sized bed, bathroom, living area, dining area and kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with cooking and eating utensils for six campers. All cabins also have an outdoor picnic table and fire ring. Campers must supply their own bedding and linens. Jonathan Dickinson State Park provides wilderness viewing opportunities, hiking, biking, nature trails, boating, fishing and horseback riding. Concessions are available at the park.
