      home to six roller coasters and the largest resort in Monticello. Package deals are available for the amusement park, water park and other attractions.       Lake Shafer is a manmade lake in the Monticello area. The other manmade lake is Lake Freeman. Lake Shafer is known for large size black bass. This lake covers about 1400 acres with a water depth of 30 feet. Norway and Oakdale hydroelectric dams are located on Lake Shafer. Boating is available on Lake Shafer, from ski boats and pontoons to wave runners. Indiana Beach has an amusement park that features roller coasters and more than 45 amusements. Golf and shopping are major pastimes for Indiana Beach. At Indiana Dunes, the sandy Lake Michigan shoreline varies from dunes at highs as 125 feet to beach grasses. There are 15 miles of national lakeshore to explore.
