Good Hotels for Kids in Las Vegas

Las Vegas has gone through several different incarnations. There were the early days, when the town was a pure gambling destination. In the 1970's and 1980's Las Vegas attempted to become a family destination, but that plan did not last long. After that, the town became primarily adult and gambling-oriented again with the theme of "What Happens In Vegas, Stays In Vegas." Despite this theme, though, there are some kid-friendly activities at different hotels in Las Vegas.

  1. Circus Circus

    • The Circus Circus Hotel and Casino has a circus theme throughout the hotel and casino. This works well with young children and families visiting Las Vegas.

    New York New York

    • The New York-New York Hotel in Las Vegas offers a thrill ride for kids in Las Vegas. This is a roller coaster on top of the hotel itself.

    Stratosphere Thrill Ride

    • The Stratosphere Hotel has a thrill ride that is similar to bungee cord rides at other resort destinations. The biggest difference is that it is on top of the hotel.

    Rio Hotel

    • The Rio Hotel and Casino has a parade in the sky with floats that run on a track assembled on the roof of the casino area. Children cannot be on the casino floor, but they can ride on the floats or be in the shopping area where the parade in the sky circles past.

    Child Care

    • Several hotels in Las Vegas offer on-site child care. Rates and hours vary by hotel. Some examples of hotels with child care are: Loewes Lake Las Vegas, The Orleans, Palms, Red Rock Station, Santa Fe Station, Sunset Station, Texas Station, Boulder Station, and Red Rock Casino Resort And Spa.

    Kids and Casino Floors

    • Children are not permitted on the casino floor in Las Vegas. Parents must keep this in mind when planning family vacations to this gambling destination.
