Cabins Nearest to Blood Mountain, Georgia

Blood Mountain is located within the boundaries of the Chattahoochee National Forest and is the highest point of the Georgia portion of the Appalachian Trail. It offers visitors beautiful views of the surroundings from its peak and includes a number of hiking trails and recreational areas. Rental cabins near the mountain not only provide more privacy than a hotel stay, but include easy access to activities during all seasons of the year.
  1. Blood Mountain Cabins

    • The Blood Mountain Cabins are located in the Appalachian Mountains at an elevation of more than 3000 feet. Open all year, the facility provides 14 individually-designed and named cabins divided into three categories: In the Woods (Chipmunk), By the Stream (Beaver, Fox, Rabbit, Otter, Raccoon, and Squirrel) and On Ridge with a Fabulous View (Bear, Bobcat, Wild Boar, Woodchuck, Deer, Wolf, and Mountain Lion). Each non-smoking cabin sleeps up to four people with a maximum allowance of six people (for an additional daily fee of $5 per person) and includes modern amenities. Pets are not allowed in any of the cabins but there are two recommended kennels in nearby Blairsville and Cleveland, Georgia. A country store is within walking distance of each cabin and includes basic grocery items, a variety of snacks, and information and maps on all the local area's hiking trails and waterfalls. As of October 2010, rates range from $79 to $99 for daily stays to weekly rates between $389 and $469.

    Sunrise Cabins

    • The Sunrise Grocery provides licenses, bait and equipment for nearby fishing activities.

      The Sunrise Cabins, located a few miles south of Blairsville and three miles north of Vogel State Park, offers two cabins at the foot of Blood Mountain: Sunrise and Sunset. The two-bedroom Sunrise Cabin occupies the second floor of the mountain cottage, sleeps up to five people and includes special amenities such as antique furnishings, a private deck with mountain view, a stone fireplace and a fully-equipped kitchen. The one-bedroom Sunset Cabin occupies the entire first floor of the mountain cottage and includes modern amenities and a private patio with mountain view, stone fireplace and a fully-equipped kitchen with dining area. Pets are not allowed in either cabin and there are no telephones, although cell phone service is available. The cabins are within walking distance to the Sunrise Grocery, which provides fresh produce and basic grocery items as well as fishing supplies such as licenses, live bait and tackle. As of October 2010, rates for the Sunrise Cabin are $99 per night and $550 per week, and the Sunset Cabin rents for $89 per night and $500 per week.

    Alpine Cabins

    • The Alpine Cabins are seven pet-friendly cabins located on a seven-acre property in Blairsville, Georgia, with views of Trackrock Valley and Brasstown Bald, the highest mountain in Georgia at 4,784 feet. Open all year, the facility provides six one-bedroom cabins (Heidi, Hansel, Gretel, Anna, Fritz, and Elsa) and one two-bedroom cabin (Franz), each with special amenities such as Jacuzzi tubs, fireplaces, private porches, cathedral ceilings and fully-equipped kitchens. Each cabin also provides an informative book that includes up-to-date information about the area's attractions, ranging from local hiking trails to the restaurants in Blairsville. For other on-site activities, each cabin is also walking distance to the picnic pavilion, nature walking trail, and an open fire-pit area. As of October 2010, rates range from $109 per night to $882 for weekly stays.
