Lake Wedington, just 13 miles west of Fayetteville, is a 102-acre lake in the Ozark Mountains. Overnight guests at Lake Wedington can stay in any of the six historic cabins and have access to the day-use area; activities include swimming, playgrounds, volleyball courts and horseshoe pits. There is also a swimming area. The cabins, which sleep three to five people, feature linens and towels, kitchens, fireplaces, and heat and air conditioning.

About 40 minutes south of Fayetteville, Locke Mountain offers three vacation cabins complete with linens and towels, kitchens, microwaves, coffeemakers, fireplaces, and heat and air conditioning. There is an on-site pond for fishing, and paddleboats are available to rent. Nearby attractions include White Rock Mountain and the Ozark Highland Trail, for ATV riding, hiking, climbing and horseback riding; and Shores Lake, for fishing and swimming.

This 650-acre lodging and event resort is in the heart of Arkansas's Ozark National Forest, a little more than an hour from Fayetteville.
