Finger painting, face painting, themed crafts, spin art, sand art, T-shirt decorating and coloring pages are a few of the ways your preschooler will express himself creatively. The kids can even bring the creations to life, such as making puppets then using them to put on a show.
As part of H2Ocean, the camp's science program, tots can make Goop, a gelatinous substance similar to play dough.
ExerSeas, a program designed to encourage children to exercise, offers fun games and activities that also get your little one moving. Activities such as SeaNotes Sing-A-Long, Parachute Play, talent shows, indoor ball pits, duck-duck-goose and dance parties promote physical fitness without taking away from the feeling of playtime. A climbing maze exercises your child's mind as well as her body. Even the hot potato game becomes exercise, as children are encouraged to dance along to the music.
For toddlers, A-B-Seas, a program to promote reading and improve writing skills, begins with the counselors reading to the children. Afterward, skits and puppet shows allow for a creative spin on the stories. Games include picture bingo, pillow case memory game, musical number bop & bubble fun, the great shoe hunt and hot potato. The clubhouse room is filled with toys and puzzles for girls and boys, stations with computers and popular video game consoles. Movies and cartoons are shown at designated times.
In the late evening, after the regular Camp Carnival activities end for the day, a babysitting service is provided for a fee. From 10 p.m. to 3 a.m., a "slumber party" takes place, allowing Mom and Dad to enjoy the adult entertainment available on board. Your child will enjoy games, movie time, juice and snacks. The charge for the service -- $6 an hour, plus $4 for each additional child, is charged to your Sail and Sign Card, your onboard credit account.
