Uchee Creek Army Campground and Marina is located within Columbus at Fort Benning. The campground offers cabins and chalets for members of the military and their family members. Department of Defense employees are eligible as well. Cabin sizes vary, from a small cabin offering of one full bed, and a bunk bed set, to a large cabin of one full bed, two singles and a sofa. The smaller, or Classic Chalet, offers two bedrooms, each with a full bed, as well as four bunk beds, a sofa and loveseat. The larger chalet, known as Executive, offers the same, but with queen beds, a sofa, and televisions in each room. On-site camping, a country-style store are available and pets are allowed in certain cabins with an initial pet fee of $25 and a daily fee of $5. Check in is from 3-6 p.m., while check out is 11 a.m.

Merritt Trading Post Resort is located 30 minutes away in Box Springs, Georgia. Cabins range from small, with a queen-sized bed, to extra-large with four double beds, and offer full bathrooms, electric heat, refrigerators, and bedding. The resort offers its guests kitchens within each of its 15 cabins, as well as access to a number of outdoor activities. Fishing is available, along with a bait and tackle shop as well as paddle boats and boat rentals. There is also a restaurant and lounge on the premises.
