Luckenbach, Texas, is located in the Texas Hill Country about 11 miles from Fredericksburg. It came to national prominence thanks to the song "Luckenbach Texas" by Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson. Many visitors come for the lively ambience and the still-operating General Store, as well as the nightly live music shows and weekend festivals or celebration. Other visitors come for the area recreation found in the state parks, lakes and hills.
The Dos Lagos Ranch sits 12 miles southwest of Luckenbach. It has two bedroom cabins that feature cedar furniture, including king sized beds in the master bedroom, twin beds and a sleeping loft. Each cabin comes with a coffee pot, coffee and a fully equipped kitchen. Every cabin has a front porch with a swing. TV, CD player and stereo and comfortable leather recliners provides comfort in style. The ranch features two catch and release fishing spots, private entrance for all cabin visitors, on site security and an oak grove that surrounds the boating and swimming areas. LBJ State Park is within an hour's drive east and features nature walks and study, picnicking, fishing and swimming.

The Armadillo Farm Campground just outside of Luckenbach offers cabin and cottage rentals. Visitors can choose from one-room wooden cabins with kitchen, full size beds and a set of bunk beds. Cottage amenities include one bedroom, bathroom with linens, air conditioning and heater unit, as well as refrigerator, kitchenette with microwave and coffeemaker. Couples may find the 'tin cabin' more private, with a sleeping loft with bedding, an outdoor shower and a 'closet commode' which allows more privacy. Fire rings and barbecues provide on-site cooking. Bathrooms and showers are within walking distance of all cabins. Take a short drive west and spend the day at Lady Bird Johnson State Park near Fredericksburg. Swimming, fishing and picnicking and an 18-hole professional golf course are just a few of the many activities that can be found in this 150-acre park.

The Country Inn & Cottages islocated on 200 acres of oak-tree lined drives and trails two miles from Luckenbach rents cottages with one, two or three bedrooms. Visitors can explore the granite formations at Enchanted Rock State Park, which is an hour's drive north of Luckenbach. Other activities include rock climbing, trail riding, hiking and picnicking.
