Having an RCI membership allows members to travel to a variety of places around the world for specific amounts of time in exchange for savings. Contracts are sold both in "weeks" or "points" and are generally used for a one-week stay within the resort networks. RCI lets its members exchange their week they might have purchased at their main, or home, resort for a different resort within the network. You can exchange your timeshare for a different resort location over the phone or through the RCI website.
Call customer service and to speak to an RCI representative. You will need your home phone number and your member ID. If you don't have your member ID available, the representative can look you up by name as it appears on your account.
Tell the representative you want to exchange your timeshare. The representative will deposit your week or applicable points into the RCI network and help you determine what resorts are available during your chosen travel times in the area you want to stay.
Give the representative your payment information once you settle on new the resort location. You will need to pay an exchange fee. The representative will take your exchange week or applicable points out of the network space, apply it to your new chosen timeshare location and confirm your trip.
Check your e-mail. A confirmation e-mail will be sent to you with your trip itinerary. If you do not have e-mail, you can request a confirmation itinerary be mailed to you.
Log on to the RCI website at RCI.com. Log into your account and click on "Deposit Weeks." Follow the screen prompts to finish depositing your week or applicable points into the RCI network space.
Click on the "Travel" tab and search through available RCI timeshares in the location are traveling to. Check the resort's availability.
Finalize your trip by booking your trip and paying for your purchase. You will need to pay an exchange fee that will be included in the final price. The RCI system takes your week or applicable points out of the network space area and claims it for the new resort you've just chosen.
Check your e-mail for your purchase receipt to arrive with a copy of your reservation.
