How to Transfer an RCI Membership

RCI timeshare weeks sound great while hearing a sales pitch after spending the day on a tropical beach, but many times the money, time or desire to vacation at these resorts disappear. Whether selling a timeshare or transferring a week as a gift, it is critical to notify your home resort of the change and complete a membership transfer agreement to ensure a smooth process for everyone involved.

Instructions

    • 1

Notify your home resort of the sale of the timeshare or, if a gift transfer, of the recipient's names. This allows RCI to make necessary changes to your ownership documents and, if a gift, ensures your guests will not run into problems when checking into the resort.

    • 2

Go to RCI's membership transfer application web page and print a copy of the application. Both the transferers and the transferees must complete separate sections of the application and all parties that are currently on the RCI agreement -- as well all parties who wish to be on the amended agreement -- must sign the application. At this point both parties must also agree about who will pay the processing fee.

    • 3

Fax or mail a copy of the application to the number or address given on the membership transfer application web page. If selling the timeshare, procure a copy of the new notarized deed and send it with the application, making sure all timeshare units and weeks transferred are listed, hotel name and unit number present and the unit's maximum occupancy, week number and seasonal designation correctly identified.
