Hells Gate State Park, located on 960 acres, is situated within the city limits of Lewiston. With 96 campsites, it offers spacious and shaded pull-through and back-in sites. Each site has electric hookups, a picnic table, fire pit and access to laundry facilities, a general store, a playground, covered pavilions, an amphitheater and a conference room.
The Snake River runs alongside the park and functions as the boundary between Idaho and neighboring Washington. Hells Gate is located just outside of the Hells Canyon National Recreation Area, which offers a 9,393-foot gorge that is deeper than the Grand Canyon. Hells Gate offers its own full-service marina with jet-boat tours of the canyon leaving from the marina.

Clearwater River Casino & Resort is located on the Nez Perce Reservation, just 4 miles east of Lewiston. The Clearwater River runs parallel to the park, attracting wildlife such as deer, elk, pheasants, duck and geese. Those visiting the casino can play more than 600 machines and enjoy the on-site restaurant, deli, lounge, convenience store and gift shop.
Clearwater River's RV Park offers more simple accommodations for its guests with 33 campsites on grass and gravel with full hookups and access to an outdoor pool, vending machines and a laundromat.
