The Rivernook Campground in Kernville is situated on the banks of the Kern River and has 250 RV sites on its 60 acres. The campground is located in a forested area and open throughout the year, and camping sites come with water, sewer and electric hook-ups. The sites have 50-amp electric available along with cable TV connections. On-site facilities include three dump stations, a picnic area and two restrooms with showers. Fishing opportunities, swimming and rafting tours are available on the Kern River, while water skiing and boating are popular activities at nearby Lake Isabella. The campground also has sites for tents.

The RiverView RV Park is located on 10 acres of land on the banks of the Kern River and within walking distance of downtown Kernville. The northern end of Lake Isabella, with its boating, jet skiing and windsurfing opportunities, is a short drive away. All 43 RV overnight campsites come with water, electric and sewer connections. Cable TV hook-ups also can be requested. Another 30 sites in the park are available on a monthly basis. The 1,000 feet of shoreline on the Kern River provide recreational activities, such as fishing, swimming, tubing and sunbathing. The Kern River is stocked by California Fish and Game. Other amenities include a picnic area, restrooms, showers, laundry facilities and a dump station. Ice and firewood are sold on the property.

Located less than 15 miles to the southeast from Kernville in the town of Weldon, the Lake Isabella/Kern River KOA provides recreational opportunities, such as whitewater rafting and kayaking on the Kern River. Boating, fishing, windsurfing and swimming also are available on Lake Isabella. The campground has shady sites for RVs as well as tent sites and cabins. Back-in and pull-through sites are available at the sites that come with water, sewer and 30-amp electric connections, as well as fire rings and picnic tables. Features on the property include a general store, and a pub with a pool table and happy hour. For your convenience the campground has restrooms, showers, laundry facilities and a pavilion. Various events, such as pancake breakfasts and movie nights, also are held.
