RV Campgrounds in Ashdown, Arkansas

Incorporated in 1892, Ashdown, Ark., is about 85 miles northwest of Shreveport, La. For tourists, the town is home to local attractions such as Millwood State Park and historic landmarks such as the Hunter/Coulter House. Visitors to the Ashdown area can choose from several public and private RV campgrounds that offer fully equipped sites and on-site activities.
  1. Bullfrog Marina and RV Park

    • A privately owned facility, Bullfrog Marina and RV Park offers recreational vehicle campsites with water and electric hookups and sites with no connections for camping only in tents. The campground has restrooms, showers and a waste-dump station. An on-site convenience store sells basic groceries, ice, RV supplies and live bait. Situated along Millwood Lake, the park offers a boating ramp and a dock for freshwater fishing. Bullfrog Marina and RV Park is open year-round.

    Beard's Bluff Campgrounds

    • Located in Saratoga, Beard's Bluff Campground is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers recreational area about 13 miles from Ashdown (about 20 minutes by automobile). The campground has 29 paved RV campsites with full patios. Three sites have full electric, water and sewage hookups, while 25 have electricity and water only. Intended for primitive camping only, one site has no connections at all. The campground features restrooms, showers, public telephones and a waste dump. The campground is located along Millwood Lake for freshwater fishing, boating and swimming. A playground is also available on-site. Beard's Bluff Campground operates year-round.

    Millwood State Park

    • Operated by the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism, Millwood State Park in Ashdown consists of three campsites reserved for tents and 115 paved RV lots. All of the sites measure 30 feet by 45 feet and have full patios. Three of the campsites have no connections, while the remaining 112 feature water and electric connections. On-site amenities include restrooms, showers, a waste dump and a public phone. The campground operates a convenience store that sells basic groceries, bait and firewood. Campers can fish and boat in Millwood Lake, and the park has boat rentals available. Also on-site are a playground, horseshoe pits and nature and bicycling trails. The park is open year-round. The state of Arkansas imposes a 21-day maximum length on all stays at the park.
