RV Parks Near Gold Canyon, AZ

A self-proclaimed gatherer of "snow-birds," Gold Canyon, Arizona, resides along the foothills of the Superstition Mountains about one hour east of Phoenix. Within this quiet desert community, visitors to the area can hike, fish, bicycle or golf. The city of Tucson lies just a few miles south and provides a good location for RVers to get their rigs cleaned and serviced before settling into one of the many nearby parks.
  1. Heaslett's Circle B Cabins & RV Park

    • This seasonal RV park welcomes visitors from May through October. Located in the White Mountains about six miles from Gold Canyon, guests here can enjoy nearby fishing on one of three lakes or a stroll over to the Little Colorado River to angle for trout. The vehicle maximum here is 32 feet, with each site equipped with electric, water and sewer. Heaslett's Circle offers shaded sites in a forested setting with a gazebo, horseshoes and a playground on site. A deposit is required upon reservation, as of June 2010.

    Wishing Well RV Park

    • This small RV park is located northwest of the Santa Catalina mountains and nearly eight miles from Gold Canyon. Pizza parties, potlucks, holiday meals and the occasionally karaoke singalong liven up the park. Park features include wireless Internet for a fee, 30-amp electric, and bathroom and shower facilities. Long-term residents are welcome here, as are most pets, but call ahead for larger animals. The park is one mile from a grocery store, four miles from a shopping center and walking distance to neighboring cafes and eateries.

    South 40 RV Ranch

    • The South Forty bills itself as "adult-oriented" and sits approximately 20 minutes south of Gold Canyon in Tucson. Park amenities include a heated pool and hot tub, recreation room, card rooms and a lounge with television and billiards. Hook-ups include 30- or 50-amp electrical service, and a dump station is on site. Pull-through spaces are available for larger vehicles, and the landscaped palm trees provide some shade. All sites have picnic tables and a concrete patio. Dogs less than 20 lbs. are welcome as long as they remain tethered and the owners abide by park rules regarding pets.

    Whispering Palms RV Park

    • Located less than 12 miles from Gold Canyon, this park offers guests easy access from the interstate and a full complement of amenities including full hook-ups with cable TV, mail forwarding service, free wireless Internet, a seasonal swimming pool and LP gas service. A recreation hall offers the occasional pancake breakfast and potluck along with bingo and game nights. Tents are welcome to set up on the grassy area within the park and discounts are offered to AAA and Good Sam club members.
