Wanderlust World Wanderlust World River Ridge Campground & RV Park, which is located 12 miles from Carthage, does not hide the fact that fishing is at the heart of everything that takes place at the park. Located on the Sabine River, River Ridge claims to have the best bass fishing in East Texas. Tent-only sites with no water or electric cost $12.50 per night, while RV sites with full electric, water and sewer connections cost $22.50 and $25 per night (as of March of 2010). River Ridge has bath and shower facilities and some pull-through sites for large RVs.

Hitchin' Post RV Park, which is located about 20 miles from Carthage, has sites with full electric, water and sewer connections for $29 per night (as of March of 2010). The park offers campers wireless Internet, bath, shower and laundry facilities and a gourmet coffee shop. Most of the sites at Hitchin' Post are pull-through and can accommodate RVs of all sizes. Restaurants and shopping outlets reside about 15 minutes from the park.

Martin Creek Lake State Park, located about 15 miles from Carthage, offers tent sites for $8 per night and RV sites with electricity and water for $13 to $17 per night (as of March of 2010). The park features bath and shower facilities, hiking and mountain biking trails and swimming, fishing and boating. Martin Creek Lake State Park also has a lighted fishing pier on Martin Creek Lake.
