Minneapolis Apartment Occupancy Limits: 2 Per Bedroom + 1

Under Minneapolis City Ordinance, maximum occupancy for a rental unit is:

2 persons per bedroom + 1 additional person if the unit has ≥2 bedrooms.

• 1 bedroom → max 2 occupants
• 2 bedrooms → max 5 occupants (2×2 + 1)
• 3 bedrooms → max 7 occupants (3×2 + 1)
• ...and so on.

Exception: Children under 2 years old are not counted toward the limit.
