How to Vacation With a Baby in Hawaii

There are many things you can do in Hawaii with a baby. Also, there are certain things to bring on your trip that will help make traveling with your baby easier. Hawaii is known for its mountain trails and hiking, along with snorkeling spots and swimming, but those are not all things you can do with your baby. Hawaii offers plenty of family-friendly places you can go with baby in tow, however, such as aquariums, zoos and plenty of beaches and parks. You can even find shallow waters or tide pools to swim in with your baby.

      Pack the right stuff. Purchase or bring a collapsible stroller to stow on the airplane or take along in cabs or rental cars. Bring baby toys and more than one pacifier, in case you lose one. Pack a First-Aid kit and take it with you everywhere. Bring plenty of diapers, rash cream and wipes. Pack enough formula and food for your baby for the duration of your vacation. Buy or bring a nightlight to help your baby feel safe at night.

      Go to the Honolulu Zoo, located at 151 Kapahulu Avenue. Show your baby some of the 1,211 birds, mammals and reptiles, many of which she will see for the first time. Push your baby in her collapsible stroller and share in seeing these exotic animals. Go to the Pana'ewa Zoo, which is the only zoo in America situated in a tropical rain forest. It is located in Hilo off Highway 11 on the island of Hawaii.

      Go to the Waikiki Aquarium in Oahu, which is part of the University. Explore all kinds of exotic aquatic life with your baby, some of which is only found in the Hawaiian Islands. Push your baby in a stroller as you show her the sights.

      Visit Sea Life Park Hawaii, located in Waimanalo on the island of Oahu. Watch aquatic performances with your baby such as the Dolphin Royal Swim, where your baby can be kissed by a dolphin. Allow your baby to pet and be kissed by sea lions during the Sea Lion Discovery.

      Visit the Whale Center of the Pacific, which is a shopping area created to seem as though it exists in the mid-1800s. Look through the wide variety of whale artifacts and exhibits on display.

      Visit the beaches on the islands you explore. Soak up the sun while in the water with your baby. Find beaches where the water is gentle or swim with your baby in tide pools and naturally warm ponds.
