A rate that is full-board is accommodation that includes room and three meals per meal (breakfast, lunch and dinner). Alternatives to full-board include half-board, where a rate includes a room, breakfast and one main meal. Full-board is also referred to as an American Plan, en pension or full pension.
All-inclusive rates include all meals, limited drinks and other facilities in addition to a room. This term is often used with respect to resorts and packaged holidays. For packaged holidays, all-inclusive can also include transportation, tours and excursions.
Travelers should ask their travel providers what's included in a rate before finalizing travel arrangements. This is especially important when booking all-inclusive travel so you know what will be included. Elements of an all-inclusive tariff can vary between travel providers and destinations since there is no standard list of what should or should not be included in such a rate or package.
