The land around Nashoba and Pushmataha County is rural, an agricultural and ranching area with Native American roots and landmarks, such as the Old Choctaw Indian Council House and the Minnetonta Camp. These approximately 1400 square miles of Oklahoma plains are also a hunting area.
Noteworthy features of Nashoba and Pushmataha County are their lakes, reservoirs, streams, rivers and creeks, a total of 25.5 square miles of water, all complimentary to the surrounding land. Cobb and Tenmile are two of the lakes, Oknoname is a reservoir, and Hog, Fish and Duck are three of the creeks.
Nashoba has a nearby recreational area, 500-acre Clayton Lake State Park, which consists of land that is considered a get-away area with playgrounds and hiking trails. A swimming beach also is located on a boating and fishing lake, and there are off-road vehicle trails.
