It is possible to transfer frequent flyer miles within the United Airlines Mileage Plus program. There are limits as to the number of miles that can be transferred, and the airline charges a fee to perform this service.
Log on to the United Airlines website so that you may access your frequent flyer account. Determine your mileage balance. Then use the Mileage Plus drop-down menu and select "Buy or Transfer Miles."
You may transfer up to 60,000 miles, and up to 15,000 miles to each person in any calendar year. United charges a $35 transaction fee and .015 cents per mile.
Gather information about the recipients. You will need their email addresses and Mileage Plus account numbers. Their email addresses must be the ones on file with United.
Click on "Transfer Miles Now" and enter the appropriate information. You will need to enter credit card information in order to pay for the transfer.
